Caponata – Sicilian aubergine stew

3 aubergines
200 gr olives
3 white onions
600 gr tomatoes
100 gr celery
100 gr capers
50 gr pine nuts
100 gr sugar
1 glass white vinegar
extravirgin olive oil
fresh basil
