Fi – “Everybody wants to be a cat”

FI is a 23 year old singer songwriter living in Skerries, Dublin. Fi began her musical journey winning Skerries Got Talent in 2013 and since then has opened and performed alongside acts such as Jerry Fish, Ryan O’Shaughnessy and Eve Belle as well as performing in shows across the city including the Grand Social, Whelans and the Button Factory.

In 2015 Fi appeared on Una Healy’s team on The Voice of Ireland and was accepted into Trinity’s classical music degree course which she graduated from in 2019. Fi also has a strong rock background having competed and reached the semi-finals of metal to the masses with former band Crooked Edge in 2016. Fi has performed internationally with a particular highlight being an American solo tour which ended on the iconic stage of The House of Blues in Chicago Illinois in 2018.

Fi released her debut EP Crooked in 2019 celebrating the release with a headliner show in the Grand Social and a performance in the Ruby Sessions in March of that year. Fi has also performed at regular Zodiac Sessions, Nerano Sessions and has organised and ran music events herself as chairperson of Trinity’s music society in 2018/2019, beginning the first singer/songwriter competition in association with Rubyworks Records.

Her debut single ‘Pathetic’ is an electro pop explosion of lyrical vulnerability, honesty and intensity fused with electrifying beats released at the beginning of 2020 and currently has over 65,000 streams on Spotify. Fi’s most recent track ‘Distraction’ written and recorded during lockdown is a Spanish infused escape from the current climate and was released at the end of September to massive positive media coverage. It currently has over 20,000 streams on Spotify.

Most recently Fi was named as Spin1038’s One to Watch on October 10th and already has new music recorded and ready for a 2021 release!
