At 22, Dublin based Simon Evans is a singer songwriter, producer and multi instrumentalist who has built his career independently. He writes, records and produces his own music, playing guitar, piano, flute, bass, drums and synthesizers.
Music has been part of Simon’s life since childhood. He started busking at 11 with a guitar and a loop station, learning through live performance. At 14, he left school to focus on music and spent the following years teaching himself songwriting, recording and production. He moved to Dublin two years ago and continued to develop his career through busking, pubs and live venues with his band.
Simon released his debut album, Cursed Routine, in April. The 12 track record took six years to complete and moves across different sounds, moods and influences rather than following a single genre. Each song has its own character, reflecting Simon’s approach to making music without trying to fit into a specific category.
On May 4, Simon and his band headlined Whelan’s in Dublin, marking an important live moment following the album’s release. He is now working on new material and preparing for future gigs.
For anyone discovering Simon’s music, A New Man is a natural starting point. The song is available on YouTube with its official music video.

Pinocchio Magazine comment:
Simon Evans represents a generation of independent artists who have learned their craft outside traditional structures. His hands on approach to songwriting, production and performance gives Cursed Routine a distinctive personal identity, while A New Man offers a direct introduction to his sound.
