Born in Campobasso in 1992, singer-songwriter Daria Tanno has shaped a career where music, movement, and personal research intertwine. She started singing as a child, studied classical and contemporary dance until 18, and played first violin in the L. Montini youth orchestra.
After high school, Daria began Applied Psychology in L’Aquila but soon returned to Molise, choosing Jazz Singing at the Conservatorio L. Perosi. She studied with Diana Torto and Chiara Izzi, attended masterclasses with Emmet Cohen and Denise King, and developed a distinctive voice that blends roots with exploration.
Between 2016 and 2025, Daria performed across Italy with the Feel the Joy Gospel Choir and collaborated with free jazz icon Giancarlo Schiaffini at the Casa del Jazz in Rome. Alongside performing, she taught at Open Arts Studio, led workshops for social inclusion, and toured stages from Tirana to Grottaglie’s Cinzella Festival.
Graduated in Jazz Singing in 2020, Daria deepened her path with a Clinical Music Therapy specialization in Ferrara. She now works in therapeutic contexts, from autism centers to community projects, while continuing to write, perform, and experiment with live looping and intimate street sessions.
Her music also reaches theater. She composed for SOLO by Roberta Natarelli, staged in Barcelona and later on tour, and co-created the soundtrack for Je me Confie a Toi, premiered at Molise Cinema in 2024.
In 2025, Daria released her debut single, “La mia isola felice,” the fruit of years of introspection and growth. She has since appeared at Summano Festival and Nuvole, chitarre e note, opening for Filippo Graziani.
