Write By The Sea and stay for the seafood

Write by The Sea is a literary festival that takes place every September in the picturesque fishing village of Kilmore Quay, co. Wexford. It was born five years ago out of the dream of a few writers to share the inspirational beauty of the location with fellow writers and readers. Offering a unique mix of masterclasses, writing workshops and presentations, it encourages established and emerging writers and readers to come together to explore all forms of writing: from song-writing to prose to children’s books. So far, the festival has welcomed Ireland’s finest writers, including John Banville, Christine Dwyer Hickey, Colm Tóibín and Donal Ryan, to name only a few. Write by the Sea also hosts a writing competitions for works with a sea related theme and, during the year, the Room to Write Writing Workshop series, also available on Zoom.

Since the Festival is run by a small, passionate group of volunteers, the warmth, reception and atmosphere are truly unique: you go for the festival but meet new friends and enjoy the fabulous location as well as, last but not least, fabulous seafood. As we know very well, culture also includes the table!

This year’s festival takes place 22-26 September and is accessible online. To book your spot: www.writebythesea.ie
