Luca Truffarelli – The Weight of not helping enough

This immersive new dance work created by Luca Truffarelli explores ideas of freedom and the individualism of human beings. Shining a spotlight on workers’ rights, THE WEIGHT presents scenes from daily life turned compelling through the movements of a dance solo and the power of music. The production was born from Luca’s desire to creatively conjure the places and people in society so often overlooked, challenging us all to take another hard look at each other…

Against a soaring orchestral backdrop specially composed by Greg Haines and recorded with the RTÉ Concert Orchestra, this new dance collaboration by Truffarelli, originally conceived with Oona Doherty and developed with Swiss-based dancer Erin O’Reilly, presents its world premiere at The Complex.
