The Italian Cultural Institute in Dublin and the Association of Italian Teachers of Ireland hosted the ATI Award Ceremony on 17 April 2026 at the Bellini Hall of the IIC in Fitzwilliam Square.
The event brought together students, teachers and members of the Italian community to celebrate the study of Italian language and culture in Irish schools. The Italian Cultural Institute continues to play a central role in promoting initiatives of this kind in Ireland, supporting educational and cultural exchanges between the two countries.
ATI, the Association of Italian Teachers of Ireland, is the organisation that supports teachers of Italian across Ireland. It promotes Italian language education through resources, school activities, professional development and cultural events.
The ceremony opened with remarks from the Italian Ambassador to Ireland, Nicola Faganello, followed by Director Michela Linda Magrì of the Italian Cultural Institute.
Giuseppe Crupi, editor of Pinocchio Magazine, spoke about the history of the Italian language and reflected on the experience of living abroad as an opportunity to develop a deeper awareness of national identity.

During the ceremony, awards were presented to students from schools across Ireland who took part in the competition by submitting projects aimed at promoting the Italian language.
The morning concluded with a shared lunch at the Institute.
Pinocchio Magazine welcomed the initiative as an important way to encourage young people in Ireland to engage with Italian language and culture and to strengthen the connection between the Italian community and Irish schools.
